One of his guests asked him if he had any ideas for another TV show like The Women . He told them he did not believe there was anything like that today .
Lear said it seemed like television was moving more toward reality TV programs where people were more out for themselves than they were for others . Lear said he thought it would be interesting for him to make something like The Women again where people could sit down and watch an interesting story about people who were trying to be helpful but were failing at it while they were trying to make things better for others while they were failing
